So updates with Hannah's doc apt. We got the cystic fibrosis tests and its negative thank goodness. BUT we are now getting referred to a Ped Gastric specialist because she was saying a high level of something that is almost always a gastric disease, so we are waiting for the referral clinic to call!

I almost had a heart attack

So I was at walmart last night and this couple who seemed a little out to lunch were holding their brand new baby girl. The baby was about 1 week old. Mother still looked pregnant. which we all do. But I could not believe it, the father was siting there holding the baby straight out looking at it while this poor infants head is LITERALLY snapping back, snapping forward snapping side to side. Over and over again. the parents are just looking at this cute baby as you can HEAR snapping! I was sitting there shocked. A kind older woman came up asked all the usual questions, how old, name etc... and she very kindly says Oh boy better hold that head up! I was not the only one to see it. but the baby is still being left with no head support, I was soooooooo close to saying something, but I didn't want to be nosey and figured the older woman already tried. What would have YOU guys done in this situation?Should I have said something?Just left it alone? To this moment I am still queasy about the situation and am uneasy about that poor infants safety.

I asked Angela what she wanted for a cake her response : " a pink Dora princess Cinderella castle with 123 Angela " so that is what she got!

I think she had a fun day. We were in Calgary and she went out for breakfast with daddy then to the mall with daddy where he bought her a necklace, "lipstick" and a cool alligator dentist game. she is still talking about it. Then we all went out to Jared's parents house and had a small party with her cousins we made personal pan pizzas, opened amazing presents and ate cake! all in all it was a good day!

It was bitter sweet her going. I did not tear. But I was not nearly as excited as I thought I would be. Angie hasn't napped since she was 15 months old so i thought wow mornings without her might be a nice change of pace. But last night I got butterflies in my stomach at realizing she IS growing up. Yes she is only three going into preschool, but she was starting to get bored at home and WANTING to know how to print letters numbers words asking what the words meant etc.... I try my best to teach her but as soon as we would get started Hannah would run up and grab the paper or start fussing. So I thought it would be nice for her to go to school. she always talks about her "friends at school" etc. and she loves it

Fours years

Today is our four year anniversary. Wow its hard to imagine. Today when I woke up I was overcome with emotion. I love this man so much. We have grown up alot together. I'll admit in some areas we both need a little more growing, but we are growing together. I love to see him with "his" girls. They adore him. He adores them. Both pick daddy over me any day. Angela has also declared that this next baby will also be daddy's baby, not mommy's! He is such a caring guy. He will hate me for saying this but he is also a very sensitive guy. He truly cares about every ones feelings even if sometimes it may not seem like it. He does. And over these four years I have learnt that he loves to tease, but that is how he "plays" and I like to think I am getting better at "playing" back! I can not wait to see what these coming years bring! hopefully things will calm down and we can live a somewhat quiet "normal" lifestyle but only heavenly father knows what is in store for us.

Banff

So I am going to give you a little background of our Banff experiences. We honeymooned in Banff at the Rimrock, which was honestly the most amazing place ever. It has perfect. He had fuzzy robes and slippers, a gorgeous pool, hot tub and sauna with eucalyptus spray, spa, patio dinning looking at the mountains, divine really. Love that place, and to me that is Banff. Giorgio's for dinner, Rimrock , and we got a special " honeymoon breakfast in bed" day of shopping on the strip. AMAZING. right? that's Banff. Here are some pictures so you get the idea of the elegance this place has. ( I prefer it to the Banff springs hotel, way nicer staff etc..)

Well when your poor and have kids the above picture is where you go when you go to Banff for your anniversary. Banff Voyager Inn. But there is a few things we learned

DO NOT STAY AT THE BANFF VOYAGER INN NO MATTER HOW CHEAP IT IS!

wanna know why?

the first room we went to we opened the door. all you could smell was mold. not like moldy air need to open a window mold.straight up mold that has been there for 10+ years. so naturally we requested a different room. guess where? the room right beside it

now this room smelt like stale moldy air(probably from the room beside it) mixed with generic Lysol. SICK so because we didn't wanna be "THAT" couple we decided okay well lets open up the balcony door air it out and if its just as bad we will complain again. And the hot tub seemed like a good idea.....

ooo the hot tub. first of all its in the basement, where the floors are gross. second the first thing we see is missing tiles on the floor of the hot tub lovely third black floating pieces of the sealant that is SUPPOSED to be holding the tiles down......yum! so we cancel that idea and head back tot he room to have a warm bath instead. room smells a little better, we close the door head into the bathroom (don't get me started on the bathroom, shampoo and soaps from a different hotel?, not cleaned walls etc...) when we get out of the bathroom (which was some time) we realize Ummm why is it still freezing in our room?

yup you guessed it, our heater was broken in our room, after some phone calls and walks to the front desk they FINALLY believe us and semi fix it, but only at a BARELY warm temp. we ask for space heaters ?what? what are spacer heaters they say?

Needles to say I slept in 3 shirts 2 hoodies 2 pants and 3 socks covered with 3 blankets!

so then we are nestled into bed almost asleep (yes at 9:45....hey we are getting old and have kids...sleep is precious) we hear this HORRID yelling from out side. there is a drunk man in the pool yelling at his kids. grrrrrrreat. we figure we can bare the 15 mins until the pool closes at ten so we hold out and fall into a deep sleep

so now it is the next day at 7am. darn in the habit from my kids getting up that i can't sleep it. darn darn darn! so we head for the "free breakfast" sweet one more thing we don't have to pay for. the breakfast was 20 mins late and this is what is was

expired yogurt, stale bread, stale muffins, stale cereal, milk in containers that i was too scared to try because of the expired yogurt and coffee YAY for free breakfast............that we didn't eat

bottom line pay the extra 50 bucks for a "fancier" place

but I do want to say thank you to my hubby who bought me fudge and chocolate snails that were a ridiculous price so i wasn't upset and went to MY fav restaurant instead of going to his! it was a nice weekend

Just a quick update

the chores chart is working sooooooo well. Everyone is excited to do chores and my house hasn't looked better!

So I have been doing a lot of research/reading on "how to keep a house clean with young kids" and like material. Everything said gets kids involved. So that is my plan I made(with a little help from a website) this awesome chore chart (LOVE that it has pictures) . So I am off to color decorate and paste this chart on the wall and start tomorrow!

Day 3

So it all started when Hannah was a newborn she LOVED to suck her thumb so we forced the soother on her instead of thumb, and it was been in her mouth ever since.

Well she is just starting to get in more then just her front teeth (she is now almost 15 months) so we decided that it was time to stop the soother. She JUST has it for naps and night time. This is the third day. Day 1 I almost caved well I did when she wouldn't stop screaming in the car, but it was gone when we left the car. Day 2 I caved when we went to the Gym, I felt sorry for the poor childcare workers.Today I am not caving at all(well its only 8:39am).

She is "talking" a lot more, holy moly does this girl have something to say and hopefully her teeth don't grow in funny for having it in for so long. But thumb is worse! so I will count my blessings

Details

So I just wanted to say thank you to everyone! I am due April 11th. So I am 12 weeks. It was also a HUGE shock to us as well! But we are excited. I found out I was pregnant pretty much in the same 24 hrs I found out I got into school. lol We are moving to Regina May 1st and the week of the 11th is exam week, so April will be a very busy full month of change! but good change!

I was reminded this week how loving and accepting of everyone Angie is. There was a shy little girl in swimming lessons that didn't want to leave her mommy, Angie got her a "matching" life jacket and announced to EVERYONE "Don't worry your MY friend now" and they were off, and never looked back.

Also at the childcare where I work out there is this amazingly beautiful little girl named Tayla. She has a disability and can't walk, move her arms properly and can barely hold up her head. She is Angie's age and Angie LOVES HER. she is ALWAYS by her side telling her how much she loves her and helping her build princess castles with the Lego the boys are playing with. Tayla just grunts and Angie goes running for whatever she thinks she needs. They HONESTLY love each other. Angie is so gentle with her and helps her with everything. It just warms my heart that she is so caring to this little girl and spends so much time with her when most kids would pass her by because she can't play the same .

So I signed Angie up for preschool as of Nov 1st! She can't wait, every time we drive by she exclaims "Mommy my school!"

On Thursday we went to go meet the teachers and OFFICIALLY sign up. What does Angie do while we are there? Poops in her panties. I was mortified. She has NEVER done that before. But I think I caught her in time that none of the teachers caught on *fingers crossed* She got a firm talking to about how she wont be able to go to school if she does that and since it was pretty much bed time. She went start to bed.

Well Savor the Art of Food Company catered my sis in-laws wedding and they are AMAZING, my kids never eat in public and they devoured the food. But its grown up food but kid friendly!!!!!

SO exciting!

So during the summer I applied for my Bach Sci degree at the U of S not really thinking I would ACTUALLY get it but I have always wanted to obtain my degree. I got a letter in the mail about 3 weeks ago saying we are "still reviewing" your application. I thought that was a nice way of saying sorry your not in. But today I got THE letter. I'm in! AND I start tomorrow!!!!! I am only doing one course to start off with since I haven't been in school forever! and then we will see come next semester.

My Poor Hanny

So we went to the docs a little while ago for her 1 yr check up. They said she was too skinny and we went for blood work and then we were sent to a pediatrician. Not a big worry sometimes they over react but I knew I was concerned about her weight. But when they phoned the next day with an appointment within a week I was like O well maybe it is a little more serious then my family doctor was letting on.

Well we went to the Ped today.

She is severely vit D deficient ( which she shouldn't be with how much milk she drinks) and severely iron deficient. BUT that has nothing to do with weight.

The Ped is SUPER concerned about her weight so we have to go back for more blood work, more tests, to a dietitian ( she eats soooo much but isn't gaining anything).

Also we have to get her lungs tested because she was concerned about how they sounded and since she had pneumonia when she was 6 months she wants to see how much damage was done.


So all in all I thought we would get answers today about her weight but just more questions and not knowing and now I am more worried then before. I had to hold back the tears as I held my little girl walking back to the parking lot. To think something serious might be wrong just breaks my heart.

We went to the Zoo. Hannah's favorite part is the goats? she tries to feed them and kiss them and pet them. It is kind of gross. She RUNS to them when we walk in and makes very excited noises. its cute in a weird way


Then we went to Beaver Creek. It is so much fun. Its a conservation centre and in the building there is a pretend beaver dam that the kids can go in and look at what it might be like to be a beaver, there is a puppet show you can put on, and dress up costumes, there re hiking trails that even Angela can do. They also have a solar oven where they bake cookies for all the guests!Every night around 7 you can see the beavers making their dam its super cool and best part ITS FREE. AND year long!

Angie got this so long ago from my good friend Jessica and we never put batteries in it until finally a few days ago Daddy was watching the girls while I slept and took them out to buy batteries. It is the coolest thing ever , its a quad that actually moves by its self!!!! hours of enjoyment

Girls Camp

All of us leaders that went. It was a Stake camp. There were about 55 Young Women there. Oh and we are missing Sharla and Angela as leaders.



So it has taken me a while to write this post. It is a hard one to write. I will start from the beginning.

I left my kid lets in the care of the Original Craig family on Saturday as I had a 7 hr drive ahead of me and had to be there Sunday at 9am church to organize the ladies.

That 1-2 days alone killed me. I didn't like it. I just wanted to be back with my family.

Monday morning we went off to Silver Lake, SK (near Lloydminster) There was ALOT of hiccups getting going. But we made it out!


Honestly guys it was the most amazing spiritual experience I have ever encountered. The theme was " Share the Light" hence the light house in the picture. We had amazing food, FUN activities that were some spiritual and some just plain fun! I learnt Spanish from two amazing girls who just moved from Mexico and can barely speak English but were brave enough to come!

I got to know these ladies on such a personal level. WOW . is all I can say. I learnt some stuff about a few of them that made me want to cry for them. I learnt talents I never knew they had. I got to know there families through their experiences. There were LATE night talks one on one with a few of the ladies that I would never trade for the world. I can honestly say I LOVE every single one of those girls to the core! The have changed me. They have made me want to be a better person. I want to be that example they think I am. I came away from that camp a different person.

I pray for my girls every night. I am giddy just thinking about the next time I GET to hang out with them again. I can't wait!


I might have came back dirty, smelling like camp fire, tired and the winner of the night owl award.

Sweetest thing

So every Sunday while we are in Calgary we go out to the country to my in laws place for dinner. Yesterday we were there. My FIL asked if I would say the blessing over the food. Of course I said yes. So I say to Angie, " okay now its prayer time so remember to close your eyes and cross your arms" I was a about to open my mouth to say the prayer when I hear the sweetest thing

"Heavenly Father, bless the food"

Uncle Joe tries to help her out and whisper in her ear but it freaked her out and then said

"Mommy whats that sound"

we reminded her it was prayer time so she closed "Amen"

It was the first time without asking or prompting she just went and said the prayer it was adorable......probably only to me because I am her mom but hey I wanted to record this.

Joe felt so bad after he kept saying I screwed her out she would have went on if i didn't say anything!

Oh well it was still touching and almost made me cry!
